Souad Zakrani

Souad Zakrani is a Casablanca-based poet, translator and writer. Her first publication by Brentano Gesellschaft was quite the experience that improved her writing process. She writes in four languages, capturing the beauty of fleeting moments with gentle contemplation. She develops a style that aims to blend traditional form aesthetics with contemporary sensibilities, always striving to find the extraordinary in the ordinary. Of her recent work, she says, “Every day my heart is hurt and I can't watch Palestinian people without crying. So writing about Palestine becomes a piece of my life. Even though based in Morocco, I always write about others suffering everywhere in the world.” She has been published in anthologies in Austria, Germany & Spain.
